I knew early on that I was to have a career in either music or art (or both! fingers crossed). I already had a jump start in both worlds, designing a shirt and album art for one of my bands in high school, among other small projects. After high school I was presented with a chance to go to art school at the Otis College of Art in Los Angeles, so I decided that I would pursue my art dreams first. During school I was offered an internship, which ultimately turned into a job, at a reputable indie record label. I immediately found a home designing album packaging and tour merchandise for the bands I love. After that I moved on to designing graphics for apparel full time while retaining freelance for bands on the side. Getting paid to do what I love is something I previously only dreamed about. I eat and sleep (I don’t say dream because it often keeps me from getting the recommended amount of sleep per night) design and without music as a driving force behind it, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
